Pair of 2 High Gain 9dBi WiFi Antennas not working?

I just purchased a Pair of 2 High Gain 9dBi WiFi Antennas for my linksys WRT54GS router and i see no wireless improvement is their anything i need to do to get this working or do i need to get a different pair of antennas please help me i tried everything possible i put it on right but noting please help.

High gain antennas are not a "cure all" in CERTAIN circumstances they can increase RANGE the "OPEN AIR" distance that the signal can travel, but if your problem is walls/buildings etc, they won't make *much* of a difference. Get another linksys router, get the dd-wrt firmware from http://www.dd-wrt.com and set the 2nd router up as a "repeater". Put the repeater until half-way between where your wireless router is, and where you want the signal to be. (You can play with the positioning... Often you can move it more like 3/4 the way to where you are trying to get the signal to. Are you using a "usb dongle" type of wireless card in your computer? Is it a belkin? (subtract 1 point if it's a usb dongle, they just don't seem to have that great of range in my experience, and subtract another 2 points if it's a belkin USB dongle, as I haven't see anything worse, ever.)
