How can i setup a wireless access point to use in my house with a good range in both floors,how much it cost?

How can i set a wireless access point inside my house with a good range so that i can use wirless in both the floors of my house? How can i increase the range? How much does all this cost,can u specificaly tell me the approx cost factor for these?

1. Are you using a router first? If you are then connecting a AP is easy. If your not you will need one. That said I do not think you will find a single AP that will cover all the area of your home up and downstairs. If you dont have a router then I suggest you purchase a wireless router for Downstairs and a AP for upstairs. Now the only draw back to using a APP is that you still need to run a ethernet cable from the AP to the router, and that can be a long cable. So instead of using a AP I would install a range extender in the upstairs, which does not require a ethernet connection. It receives the signal from the router and repeats its to a farther area.. So A Good router brand new from the store will cost you about 120 to 150 dollars. On Ebay you can get one for less then 75 dollars or cheaper if you purchase a used one. For a wireless range extender a store unit will cost about 80 dollars and on ebay a new one will cost about 40 to 60 dollars and a used one can be below 40.
