Is there a wireless access point that I can carry while traveling?

I need something that I could use to connect to the internet while traveling or when outdoors using a laptop. Is there some kind of portable wireless access point that I can use for these? What brands do you recommend? Thanks!

1. well im not sure what country your in but im sure youll ahve something similar to what we can get here, you can (probably) get a type of modem that connects through the cell phone network (at a very slow speed mostlikely) all you have to do is get on a plan with unlimited internet access and you can get online anywhere you want (if you have vodafone wherever you are then try get your hands on a vodem, its about $200 to buy then $30 a month for unlimited internet acess here, if your in america or uk then itll probably cost a lot less)
2. get a 3g modem with a phone company such as 3 and you have net on the move from £10/month ($20 for you americans)
3. Look up Mobile Broadband from either Sprint, Verizon, Alltel, or other cellular carriers. Their plans are pricey (typically $50+ for unlimited download and upload), slower than most cable connections, and may not work in places where you can't get a cell phone signal. Also, they may lock you into a two year contract, which would be bad because two years from now, the prices and technology are more than likely to get exponentially better. Also, you may have to purchase their wireless card if you can't hookup your laptop to your cellphone and get it to act as your modem.
