To create a wireless access point without a router?

You see, I have a Wii and want to have interent on it. But, unfortunatly, the place where i live does not have good access points for the wii. The ones that are good are all secured. So i was thinking, can i make my own wireless point? i know i can but i didnt want to buy a router. any help?

  3. u cant, u must buy one ask ur neighbor if they have it if u can use it and ask for the WEP or WPA key

YES YOU CAN you can make your computer emit a wireless signal if it has internet connection. i just dont remember how (try looking at advanced settings in your internet connection on your computer). but it is possible i did this in the dorms to get internet from a friend's computer. problem is.. it's rediculously weak and slow. you're better off with a router
  5. nope, you can't. To make any type of access point you need a router. Laptops, xboxe, ps3 they all need it.
  6. There is no way unless you create it, but that would take waaaay to much time or effort, making the only way is buying a wireless router.

  10. The only way is to buy a router, or move your wii around the house to see if you have better wifi spots. At my moms house she has 3 different unsecured networks.
  11. Get a router. A decent wireless router starts at only $20! Make sure to get a wireless G router. Have fun!
