Refurbished xbox 360 access xbox live? Use any wireless network antenna to access xbox live?
I heard that a modded xbox 360 cannot access xbox live. Is this the same for a refurbished one? Also, can you use any wireless network antenna (belkin wireless network adapter) to access xbox live, instead of the xbox antenna?

- Modded means someone opened it and attatched a chip for it to read illegal games. Thats why they get banned from Xbox Live, for a good reason none the less. Refurbished just means it was sent in to get repaired and was put back on the shelf and will work just like any other xbox. If it doesnt then take it back asap and get your refund. As for the antenna, dont know 100 percent as i am a PS3 gamer, but i believe you must use the xbox antenna or one made for the xbox. I could be wrong though.
- A modded xbox 360 is an xbox with hardware or software installed by means that Microsoft didnt intend...a modded xbox can access xbox live...wat u r refering to is how xbox's get bricked when connected to xbox live...with each update Microsoft has software that will detect modded xboxs and will brick them(prevent them from working).....a REFURBISHED xbox CAN connect to xbox live...a refurbished xbox is just an xbox that previously had a problem and was fixed by Microsoft....REFURBISHED and modded r two completely diff things Now your wirless question...u must have a wirless adapter for your xbox which cost about $100....and u will need a wirless router like the belkin connected to your modem...this allows your wirless router to give internet to your xboxs wirless adapter giving u wirless internet on your xbox...hope that helps
- modded 360s can access xbox live, but it is likely that the user account will be banned because of either a mod chip (or the best way, which is to modify the disk drives firmare. and the newest firmware is most likely to avoid banning). a refurbished one hasnt had a firmware change, so it will be able to access live with no problems. --------- You can but you will need to embed a linux based os in your router's firmware (sounds hard, but it really is quite easy). if you dont plan on shoveling out tons of money for the official 360 wireless adapter, see this:: http://gizmodo.com/5133447/how-to-add-wi+fi-to-your-xbox-360-smartly-and-cheaply ( this ^^^^^^ has several different methods to adding wireless to your 360)
