Can I connect a Linksys wireless access point to an existing wired router for wireless capabilities?

My current router is a wired one connected, obviously, to the modem. For various reasons, I do not want to get rid of the wired router. I believe I am able to connect an access point to my current router, and have wireless capabilities off of that. Is this true? Thanks.

  1. Yes, if your wired router is configured for the that. I have used this configuration before, but with the same brand of routers.
